About KarlaCola

How did KarlaCola the label begin?
Karla founded KarlaCola after discovering a gap in the market for vibrant, unique clothing prints. Frustrated by mainstream retailers' predictable seasonal palettes, she began creating her own pieces—designs that brought colour and joy to her life. Her handmade creations quickly resonated with her community, transforming a personal passion into a thriving business built on creativity, individuality, and the belief that every woman deserves clothing that truly reflects her personality.
In 2009, when Karla and her family of 5 moved back to Australia from the US, she found there were limited choices for really different eclectic clothing for women, so she started making her own clothes.
What started as a hobby quickly grew into a love and passion for something and she discovered it came so easily to her. Focusing on colourful designs and Scandinavian fabrics her ideas and thoughts grew and grew. Craving unique colourful prints and styles, she expanded her idea into a business into women’s clothes and focused on providing women like herself another alternative to mainstream clothing and colours while also supporting many artist and designers that create textile designs.
Eventually she decided to focus on exclusively licensed fabrics to hold onto that uniqueness for a brand she had poured her heart and soul into. She started with 3 sizes and today has 5 sizes available ranging from 6-22 (XS - XXL).

KarlaCola now:
It’s hard to believe how much we have grown since we first started. In saying that we are still a small business with a small team of women that help sew your garments. Everything we make is hand cut and handmade here in South Australia.
We have the most incredible customers! With a 64% repeat customer base, these women are funny, clever, loyal and just all around a big part of what makes this business so fabulous. Every time we pick up a brand new customer we are so thrilled and thankful.
KarlaCola is a family business, her kids are so proud of how fast it has grown and love to be a part of it.
Her daughter Olivia is known to ask her mum for last minute outfits, new skirts and always sneaking the new headbands and hair ties to add to her growing collection.
